Software License Agreement

This agreement is between you and Codex BIM. It covers the Codex BIM software for Autodesk Revit. You accept it by ticking the box at checkout and by ticking the box before the installation steps.

The licence

Lite and Pro are each a licence for one person, meaning one Revit user. The price shown is for that person. Enterprise is for more than one user. It includes several licences for a team, a firm, or an organization. The package and the number of people are confirmed with the Codex BIM team.

What the software does

Codex BIM assists with checks inside Revit. It does not replace the professional judgment of an architect, an engineer, or another qualified professional, or the review of the authority having jurisdiction. Results are indicative and are not a determination of compliance. You remain responsible for the design, the final verification, and the documents submitted for a permit.

The model and the code

Checks use the data in the active Revit model. An incomplete or inaccurate model can produce an incomplete or incorrect result. You validate the information the software reads. Codex BIM is based on the Quebec Construction Code, Chapter I, Building, and the National Building Code of Canada, Quebec 2015 amendment, in the editions shown in the application. Municipal requirements, local amendments, referenced standards, and an authority’s interpretation may not be included. You are responsible for using the edition that applies to the project.

The built-in assistant

The built-in assistant answers from the model context and the code provisions. An answer can contain an error. Check it against the official code text before a decision.

Revit

Codex BIM is a plug-in that runs inside Autodesk Revit. A valid Autodesk Revit licence, obtained separately, is required. Autodesk and Revit are trademarks of Autodesk, Inc. Codex BIM is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Autodesk, Inc., the National Research Council Canada, or the Régie du bâtiment du Québec.

Trial

A 14-day trial is not a paid licence. The licence key is not shown on the website and is not sent by email.

Billing

A monthly subscription lasts one month. Monthly, billed each month. It can be cancelled at any time and lasts until the end of the month already paid. A yearly subscription lasts one year and is billed once a year. Amounts are in Canadian dollars, taxes extra.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Codex BIM shall not be liable for any direct or indirect damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, Codex BIM, including project delays, permit refusals or remediation costs.

Governing law and courts

The law that governs this agreement, and the courts that may hear a dispute, have not been confirmed by Codex BIM. They are not stated in this agreement.
