- Codex BIM is a tool that assists with code compliance review. It does not replace the professional judgment of an architect, engineer or other qualified professional, nor the review of a plan examiner or authority having jurisdiction. Users remain solely responsible for their design, the final verification of compliance and any documents submitted for permit applications.
- Analyses are based on the data contained in the active Revit model (levels, rooms, walls, parameters, etc.). Incomplete, inaccurate or improperly structured models may produce incorrect or incomplete results. Users are responsible for validating all automatically extracted information.
- Codex BIM is based on the Quebec Construction Code, Chapter I - Building, and the National Building Code of Canada (NBC - Quebec 2015 amendment) in the editions indicated in the application. Municipal requirements, local regulatory amendments, referenced standards and interpretations by authorities having jurisdiction may not be taken into account. Users are responsible for ensuring that the edition of the Code applicable to their project is being used.
- The built-in AI assistant generates answers based on the model context and Code provisions. These answers may contain errors or inaccuracies and must be verified against the official Code texts before any decision is made.
- Features identified as "In development" are not yet available or are offered as preview versions only. Their availability, scope and release dates are subject to change without notice.
- Codex BIM is a plug-in that runs within Autodesk Revit. A valid Autodesk Revit license, purchased separately, is required.
- Autodesk and Revit are trademarks or registered trademarks of Autodesk, Inc. in the United States and other countries. Codex BIM is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Autodesk, Inc. Codex BIM is also not endorsed by the National Research Council Canada or the Régie du bâtiment du Québec.
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, Codex BIM shall not be liable for any direct or indirect damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, Codex BIM, including project delays, permit refusals or remediation costs. Use of the software is governed by the End User License Agreement.
- The handling of personal information and project data is described in our Privacy Policy, in accordance with Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector.
